As one of the MRT systems in the world of great convenience, the Taipei MRT system has been serving Taipei City and New Taipei City for more than two decades, and has establish a new lifestyle for the inhabitants. In order to pass down experiences to and share information with the great rail construction sector, The Department of Rapid Transit Systems, the authority in charge of construction, launches Journal of Rapid Transit System and Technology (JRTST).

JRTST has been officially issued by Taipei City Government since 1989. For over 30 years, it has been one of the most important railway-technology information platform in Taiwan. Since 2018, JRTST transformed to be academic journal. To date, JRTST has published nearly 30 authoritative academic and practical articles.
